Computers For Kids

If you know of a student or nonprofit organization in need of an updated, recycled computer, Computers for Kids is the right organization to help you! The mission of Computers for Kids is to offer students K-14th Grade the opportunity to enhance their education through the use of technology at home. Any child may apply and each child in a household may receive a computer! To qualify for a home computer, students must live in Idaho, Washington, or Oregon and submit an application for a computer. Nonprofit organizations are also eligible for a computer. The fee is $35 per computer; however, no child will be turned down. Scholarships are available for students in need to receive a computer at no cost. Click the links to the right to fill out an application.

Twin County United Way Offering Free Prescription Drug Discount Cards

Twin County United Way is offering free FamilyWize prescription drug discount cards to help people in the Lewiston-Clarkston area without insurance or prescription drug coverage lower the cost of buying their medicine from area pharmacies.

The cards can either be picked up at the Twin County United Way office, located at 2207 E. Main St. in Lewiston or printed off the FamilyWize Web site at www.FamilyWize.com . A limited number of cards also are available at the 15 area pharmacies taking part in the program.

The prescription drug discount cards have no usage or age limits, income requirements or registration forms, and can be used immediately to reduce the cost of medicine for anyone without prescription drug coverage.

The cards are being distributed free of charge, courtesy of Twin County United Way, and more than 375 other United Way agencies around the country and in Puerto Rico.

Angie Titus, Director of the Twin County United Way, says the prescription drug card program fits with the local agency's new strategy of being pro-active in the Valley and finding solutions before a potential problem arises. Titus said, “This program is one approach we are taking to help valley residents in their need for access to healthcare.” Many communities have reported individuals without prescription drug coverage saving as much as 40 percent on prescription costs with the discount card.
