Our Community Cares
Twin County United Way (TCUW) is proud to announce this Friday’s Day of Caring with a record number of volunteers (73) registered to show how much they care about our community. This year’s Day of Caring is Friday, June 17 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. beginning with a breakfast for volunteers.
A Day of Caring is a community mobilization of local volunteers. The goal is to send volunteer teams on meaningful, hands-on community projects to assist local agencies with various needs. It provides community members with a firsthand look at the services provided by local agencies and promotes the spirit of caring throughout the year. Teams will complete projects like painting, yard work, sorting clothes, folding brochures, cleaning, and more.
Local businesses will send their employees to volunteer for these projects and show how they really do “Live United”. Some of the businesses participating include Avista Utilities, ATK CCI/Speer, Clearwater Power, Inland Cellular, Red Lion Hotel, Distinguished Young Women of Asotin, Ida-Vend Broadcasting, US Bank, Express Employment Professionals and numerous other caring volunteers.
Project locations include Homes of Hope, Lewis Clark Early Childhood Program, Valley Meals on Wheels, YWCA, Twin County United Way, Family Promise, and Inland Northwest Blood Center.
TCUW Executive Director, Ron Ramos, welcomes any last minute volunteers or project applicants to contact the Twin County United Way office to participate in Day of Caring.
