Learning how to "LIVE UNITED" is something that you can't turn off. It means taking the time to do what you can to help. That might be volunteering to drive someone to a doctors appointment or taking a lunch hour to read with a second grader. It should really be a family thing. It's important to sit down with your spouse and children throughout the year and talk about ways you can give or help others around you in need.
As we begin a new year & many resolutions are set, think about sitting down with your family and actually writing down the goals you'd like to accomplish individually and as a family. Don't forget to include the goals of what you would like to do to help others.
Our team of volunteers and staff at Twin County United Way are thankful for each of you who choose to LIVE UNITED by advancing the common good to make our LC valley a great place to live, work, & play.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

| Children's Project Update |
With our focus on Community Impact through researching, designing, and implementing strategies that address the root causes of community needs, our Children's Project came to life this past summer. Through a collaborative effort with some of our community partners, we took our first step to helping prepare children to enter kindergarten. All the research that we have done indicates that children that have quality early learning opportunities are 49% more likely to graduate from high school. Because of this, we are meeting with our community partners at the end of this month to begin preparing for another Children's Project that will take place this summer.
