Twin County United Way (TCUW) is proud to announce the Annual Banquet Celebration to complete the 2008 Annual Campaign. The Celebration is sponsored by Troy Insurance and will take place at Lewis Clark Plaza on Thursday, March 5th from noon- 1 p.m.
Twin County United Way will recognize volunteers who have committed time and energy over the past year to build a strong campaign. Outgoing officers include:
Dr. Randall Harper of Crosswalk Counseling, Board President
Bert Sahlberg of Lewis Clark State College, 2008 Campaign Chair
Dr. Mike & Judy Rooney, 2008 Honorary Campaign Chairs
Incoming leadership positions will be held by:
Alex Tibbits of Wells Fargo, Board President
Seyra Lawrence of Regence BlueShield of Idaho, 2009 Campaign Chair
2009 Honorary Campaign Chairs will be announced in June.
Many companies held volunteer & fundraising campaigns including Clearwater Paper who ended with a campaign total of approximately $124,000. Other impressive businesses included St. Joseph Regional Medical Center raising approximately $76,000 while SJRMC has also been instrumental in collaborating with TCUW and many other local programs in 2008 to increase access to healthcare by launching the Lewis Clark Health Clinic. ATK CCI Speer employees raised approximately $51,000 to support local programs.
Each year, TCUW donors have the option to designate their donations to one specific organization, or they can support the "Community Safety Net Fund" which goes to a group of 22 local programs that focus on the top outcomes in areas of Education, Income, and Health as identified by the community. Again, TCUW is proud to have a group of corporate champions to fund administrative costs so donors can know that more of their donation goes directly to these programs. Current corporate champions include Clearwater Paper, St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Joe Hall Ford, Inland Cellular, Mick McClure Honda, Potlatch #1 Federal Credit Union, Presnell Gage, PLLC, Tri-State Memorial Hospital, Idaho Beverages, Avista Utilities, and Blue Ribbon Linen Supply.
Recognition awards will be announced at the Annual Banquet for the New Board Member of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Spirit of Caring Award to a local business. There will also be two businesses receiving special recognition for their work in helping Twin County United Way with a community wide collaboration to increase access to healthcare in the Lewis Clark Valley.
